At Blik, we may be commitment-phobes when it comes to adorning walls, but we are serious in our commitment to our community of Venice, CA and causes that inspire us. If you find yourself inspired too, join us in our mission of “Giving Back.”

Blik donates to select causes and charities in Los Angeles and around the country throughout the year.

The St. Joseph Center was founded in 1976 by two Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet,  The center is dedicated to serving the community and its needs. The St. Joseph Center has evolved over the years into a multi-faceted social service agency that serves very poor homeless, families and individuals.

What we’ve done Blik supported St. Joseph’s by donating $500 worth of Blik products to be auctioned off to raise funds for the center.

The Venice Garden and Home Tour takes tour-goers to Venice neighborhoods east of Lincoln Boulevard and into the Gregory Ain tract in Mar Vista. The tour takes visitors behind gates and hedges to observe the latest trends in landscaping and contemporary architecture or homes with a historic past.

The program gives financial support to NYA’s Las Doradas Children’s Center, a licensed child care facility in Venice that provides full-time, education-based child care to low-income working families. The center offers children an opportunity for the care and additional guidance that prepares them to be effective learners, ready and eager to enter and excel in kindergarten, and soon become productive and fulfilled members of our community.

What we’ve done Blik provided support to the cause through the purchase advertisements for the printed tour Sourcebook, which is included in the materials given to all tour-goers.

Housed within the I.M. Pei designed Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center, Mattel Children’s Hospital UCLA was named with a generous gift from Mattel Children’s Foundation. The facility is beautifully designed with minimalist details and clean lines. The goal of the Hospital Play project is to infuse the space with a sense of playfulness essential to development, learning, healing and growth.

What we’ve done: directed all aspects of the job as well as design, manufacture and install wall graphics at the Mattel Children’s Hospital UCLA Play project. Working with artist, Patrick Hruby, we created a magical world for the kids complete with an enchanted forest, whimsical garden and an undersea adventure.

As part of our December Blikmas promotion, Blik donated a percentage of all whatisblik.com sales to the Mattel Children’s Hospital UCLA.

For five days in March, Manifest Equality transformed a former Big Lots in Hollywood into a massive pop-up art gallery with over 200 of the nation’s most talented visual artists to celebrate and demand full and equal rights for all Americans. Participating artists included street artists Robbie Conal, Swoon and Shepard Fairey, and illustrative painters Barry McGee, Gary Baseman and Elizabeth McGrath.

Blik was a proud sponsor of Manifest Equality and helped to transform the raw space a sprawling gallery that hosted over 10,000 guests.

“Being a part of Manifest Equality has been a tremendous experience for Blik,” said Scott Flora, co-founder of Blik. “The high caliber of artists involved have created an inspiring visual call to action that speak volumes about the fight for equal rights.”

What we’ve done Worked collaboratively with Commune Design LA to create custom graphics for the event that included an exterior banner for the giant outside entrance sign and a quote that wrapped around the entire interior of the space, 300 feet in length.

What we’ll continue to do While Manifest Equality has ended; the fight for full and equal rights still marches on. Blik will continue to work with the Courage Campaign as they work to repeal Proposition 8.

These cats have been our neighbors since we began and do a tremendous job for the youth in Venice and the surrounding area. They have an absolutely rock solid team at the helm and we are very proud to support their efforts.

What we’ve done Blik has made multiple donations to the club plus tons of Blik products and goodies during the holiday season. We also designed and installed an inspirational custom mural in their community center. In the fall, Blik participated in the Lomography “Diana World Tour” and the proceeds from the sale of our customized clone went to BGCV. In addition, Blik installed custom decals onto the BGCV vans that transport the children to and from activities.

What we’ll continue to do Partner with the Boys & Girls Club in support of their existing programs and work on collaborative projects for their space on Lincoln Boulevard.

Thank you!
