Giant Robot is a Los Angeles-based magazine dedicated to documenting, exploring, and promoting Asian and Asian-American popular culture. Subject matter includes new forces in cinema, up-and-coming artists, hybrid design and designers, unheard music, atypical travel, and historical footnotes. Since its launch in 1994, the publication has expanded from a stapled-and-folded, photocopied digest into a glossy magazine with a worldwide distribution. To further serve its culture- hungry readership, Giant Robot operates retail stores and art galleries in Los Angeles, San Francisco, and New York City, as well as a restaurant.
