VENICE, CA: Blik, the innovative maker of self-adhesive surface graphics, announces new graphics with fellow Venice neighbor and frequent collaborator, Ilan Dei. The graphics are being added to Dei's existing popular collection. The award-winning designer created two graphics for Blik: "Calla" and "Rose." Dei's inspiration for the botanical graphics came from his love of nature combined with his clean design aesthetic.
"The graphics for Blik were created as part of my ongoing exploration in scale and the structure of plants," said Dei. "In designing Calla, it was my first time playing with dimensions of light and shades of color." The towering calla lily graphic (each flower stands over 6ft tall) is a three-dimensional pattern that uses color to add depth.
"Rose" plays on the iconic shape and quality of a rose. "Rose is available in both black and white," continued Dei. "There is a macabre quality to the black rose, while the white rose represents innocence and purity. Depending on your view, the two can represent good versus evil."
Based in Venice, CA, Dei is an innovative designer of products for people, from furniture and home furnishings to residential and commercial interiors. Dei takes a holistic approach to design in a style that can best be described as a fusion of Japanese minimalism and mid-century California modern.
"Calla" and "Rose" will be added to Dei's popular line of graphics from Blik. The graphics are available online at Blik
