We’ve fed our Threadless collaboration Especial pills. This past Monday we released Threadless Especial by Blik. This line was born out of our full-color printing capabilities which allow us to print some of our favorite designs, previously unavailable to us based on the complexity of their color treatment or intricate designs. We thought Threadless was the ideal partner to introduce this Especial series because of the vast and diverse range of artwork available in their brand. And, we think they’re cool. We will select and release new Especial designs every couple of months, so stay in the loop via our newsletter and keep Blik’ing or Nix’ing in the Threadless voting booth.

We are very excited about our latest Fine Art release, Joe Ledbetter. The artist, who also resides in Los Angeles, has been creating light-hearted pop art professionally for the last decade. His enchanting creatures have graced over 100 apparel, lifestyle brands and vinyl toys, including one of our favorites, KidRobot. Joe is currently promoting his Amalgamation Tour, with stops at some of the finest galleries throughout Europe. Our very own Joe Ledbetter by Blik graphics were lucky enough to go along for the ride! Fellow Venice Beach based business owner / designer / interior decorator, Vanessa De Vargas recently used Mina Javid for Blik Nessa Headboard for a local client project. Vanessa’s ingenious style, blending beautiful vintage pieces with a modern sensibility is just ace to us! We must say, she uses her Blik well. A mere 200 feet from the sand and overlooking the famous (or is it infamous?) Venice Beach boardwalk, Hotel Erwin is totally rad. The rooftop bar alone, with its 360 ocean view, is worth the trip. But hotel planning gurus, Joie de Vivre, wanted the entire Erwin experience to be unique and capture the vibe of the Venice art scene. So, we decked out over 100 suites with graphics from our collaboration with Upper Playground. With artwork that mimics the graffiti artists who’ve characterized Venice for decades, our canvases ranged from glass doors to closet doors. We used each one to bring a bit of the energy outside, in, and tell a different story in every room.  So pack your sunscreen, kick up your feet and stay awhile!
