Blik’s Picks: Top Ten of 2011

We’ll crown 2011, the year of the Pattern Wall Tiles. These eco-friendly stunners have fast become favorites of the Blik staff. Similar to last year, we are asking 10 Blik staffers to share their favorite graphic of 2011.

1. Jerinne, Blik co-founder

What the %#@ Taz by Dan Witz

“I’m a huge fan of the Pattern Wall Tiles, especially Fishwall since it’s up in my home, but my favorite for 2011 are the Dan Witz products but especially What the %$#@ Taz. I have a soft spot for that Tasmanian devil.”

2. Nick, Manager of Operations & Custom Projects

Psychedelic Garden ~ Pattern Wall Tiles by Threadless

“I love patterns, wallpaper, textiles and have invested hours researching new medias to help us take the first step in becoming eco-friendly. I love the idea of being able to cover an entire room or accent wall with a single art piece. It’s truly AWESOME.”

3. Ryan, Designer

A Mutual Bond by Rex Ray

“My favorite is Rex Ray’s A Mutual Bond. The textures and use of layering bring a level of sophistication our other products have yet to explore.”

4. Eduardo, Production

Muppet Crew by Disney

“I like the classic Muppet designs.  I’m a Muppet traditionalist.”

5. Sonja, Custom Projects Manager

Babybot Land by Babybot

“Babybot Land because it’s quirky and makes me smile. Smiling is good.”

6. Margo, Print

Peeking Muppets by Disney

“I like the quality of the print, the colors and the size. Peeking Kermit is my favorite.”

7. Heather, PR & Marketing

Flutter Re-Stik by Christy Flora

“I like the delicate pastel-colored butterflies of Flutter with their subtle burst of color and whimsy as they float across the wall.”

8. Kim, PR & Marketing

Bird Flurry ~ Pattern Wall Tiles by Threadless

“My favorite is Bird Flurry Pattern Wall Tiles because they are so easy to install and I can get really creative with them. Hooray for no more boring light switches and sockets in my apartment!”

9. Uly, Shipping

Imaginary Castle by Patrick Hruby

“My pick is Imaginary Castle — it’s stylish and colorful.”

10.  Scott, Blik co-founder

Conquered ~ Pattern Wall Tiles by Threadless

“Pattern Wall Tiles are a fresh new concept that pushed us in an innovative direction. I like that they encourage people to unleash their creativity by cutting, moving and combining patterns. I had fun putting them up in my own home.”

Street Artist Moves Indoors: Blik welcomes SAN

san_blogimage2

Put out the welcome mat, the renowned Spanish street artist SAN is tangled up with Blik. SAN has taken his work indoors and designed a piece specifically for Blik —  with your walls in mind. He makes light of the fact that the graphic is self-adhesive by adding nails and string to “attach” the design to the wall.

Titled “ A Host of Fetishes” the decal is a jumbled and chaotic collection of various objects from a compass, bird skull, broken clock, spindle wheel to dice and plenty of nails to go with it.
