Is your first response to that headline – what’s a vinyl record? Because not only do we have two new graphics and two new Pattern Wall Tiles from Philly artist Jim Houser, we’ve got five of his records to give away as well. An artist and a musician? Yeah, we knew we had to have him at Blik.
The four new designs work in harmony and share a muted color palette. Jim was careful to ensure that both the themes (and palette) would blend seamlessly with his paintings from the last five years. Meaning if you’re already a Houser collector, these pieces will be a perfect match. And if you’re not, Jim is excited for you to make the graphics your own. What did we like about Jim? His sense of fun, of course.
Pattern Wall Tiles:
Scallops ~ Pattern Wall Tiles: Available in two colors, Scallops ~ Pattern Wall Tiles brings Jim’s painting (drips and all) to your walls.
Amps ~ Pattern Wall Tiles: Turn up the volume. Amps ~ Pattern Wall Tiles brings Jim’s multi-colored amps to your walls. Get ready to rock.
Graphics:
Snake with Legs: We dare you to count the number of shoes in this wall decal.
Arrows: Stick em up! How many arrows does it take to make a cowboy raise his hands? We spot nine in this clever wall decal.

GIVEAWAY: 5 VINYL RECORDS
As we said above, Jim is multi-talented and has released an untitled album of instrumental music he wrote and performed. We’re giving five Blik fans a chance to win the six-track 10” vinyl record and a beautifully designed 16 page full-color booklet featuring images and artwork also created by Jim.
How to win: Tell us what kind of music you think fits Jim’s artwork (Google Images is a great place to start to see Jim’s work.) Leave a comment below and match any song with a piece of his art (you’re not limited to art that was turned into Blik graphics). What song could have inspired a particular piece? For example, we think of U2′s Joshua Tree when we look at the “Helping Hands” tree.
Comments must be in by Sunday, September 9, 2012 at 11:59pm PST. The five winners will be announced on Tuesday, September 11, 2012. Now, get creative and good luck!
UPDATE: Congrats to Erica, Sarah, Siobhan, Deborah and Andrew! You’ve each won a six-track 10” vinyl record and 16 page full-color booklet featuring images and artwork from new Blik artist Jim Houser. Thanks to everyone who participated.
